The last two weeks have actually been pretty fun because I’ve met a lot of people who read this blog, or have corresponded with me about it, while at the show. Funnier still is when people who work at Sleep No More ask me what my job is there. Then I feel a little embarassed.
I’ve seen SNM 19 times now, with #20 coming up on the anniversary of #1, on March 7.
As for where the money for it comes from: I am, sadly, not wealthy. SNM is my one big treat to myself. No cable, seldom see movies, it’s my primary culture expense (fortunately for me the bands I like to see live tend to be unknowns and therfore cheap). Also, I pretty rarely spend my weekends drinking. So, I scrape together enough spare each month to allow a show, two if I’m especially thrifty on other stuff.
The big holiday parties really hurt the ol’ budget.
I do wish they had a frequent flier program, though.
