I saw the show Sleep No More in new york on Monday. I bought a book, but didn’t feel like scanning so instead I went on the site & took the pictures of my three favourite actors.
Let me tell you, this show was fucking amazing. It really is a psychological experience. You’re wooshed into another world as soon as you walk through the curtain into the bar & it’s incredible!
The whole thing is silent, but it’s perfect. I think words would definitely change the entire atmosphere & it’s perfect where it is. The amount of work the actors did was whimsical & I spent a lot of time thinking about myself as an actor & how fun it would be to go into work & get thrown around in front of hundreds of people.
The whole show is pretty fast paced & if you’re following one particular actor you have to run a little, but walking through the hotel & exploring all the rooms & details is equally rewarding. Really. Nothing I could say could really really explain how cool this is. Now words can describe it.
It makes me so happy to see Shakespeare’s work still celebrated & done, in a /good/ way. A different way that does it so much justice…
anyways, I’m babbling, but this was an AMAZING show that I hope to go to again, & if you have the chance you should go see it too. It’s an experience you will never forget.
