Like I mentioned, I’m taking my parents to see Sleep No More on Monday night. Partly because they’ll probably only see it once, partly because the dark might be rough, and partly because I don’t know how much stair climbing my dad’s knees can bear, I figured I’d give them a bit of a tour for one cycle’s worth of show so they can see highlights, then leave them on their own for the rest of the night.
Here’s what I thought we’d try to see (it’s more Macbeth-plot heavy than my kind of night would usually be)
- start at the ballroom
- the Macbeths in their bedroom
- Macduff climbing the walls
- the rave
- Banquo murdered
- the banquet
- Birnam Wood moves
- Banquo and Macbeth in the dressing room
- Cabaret with Hecate
- Malcolm shaves Duncan
I feel like we could do those without too much hurried climbing. Any suggestions on scenes to swap in? I can’t off the top of my head think of the best thing to do immediately after the banquet ends.
